Dow Corning’s Ozone Safe (OS) Fluid are environmentally friendly solvent replacements. They are exempt from federal VOC regulations and included on the EPA’s list of acceptable electronics cleaning substances. These low odor, ultra-pure, linear volatile methylsiloxane (VMS) fluids were developed for use as cleaning agents in the most demanding applications, such as hard drives, circuit boards, electronic displays, close tolerance precision equipment, and wherever sensitive substrates are used. They, also swell and lift most silicone coatings and gels for repair work.

Dow Chemical® brand primers, prime coats, and adhesion promoters are dilute solutions of silane coupling agents and other active ingredients. Silicones are designed to adhere well to a wide variety of substrates, but some silicone products and some surfaces require adhesion enhancement to achieve adequate bond strength. Surface treatments to improve adhesion can range from simple cleaning to more complex etching, and may require the application of reactive silane coupling agents to achieve optimal bonding.
